Welcome and thanks for dropping by. I've been involved in the web industry for over 8 years now, mostly through Yorkshire based web development company Orchestrand Ltd, of which I am a co-founder and director. I also take on freelance work under my own name for a range of different clients.
I sit firmly on the fence between 'designer' and 'developer,' which means that I can breeze through both the creative and nuts-and-bolts side web applications with ease. It is for this reason that I am able to offer a full agency service, much to the benefit of my clients. You'll also find that I have an excellent understanding of the real-world into which my work will be unleashed; where budgets, timescales, results and return on investment really matter.
Scottish born, I'm 28 years old and graduated with a 1st Class Honours degree from the University of York in Electronic Engineering (BEng). I also studied at the Leeds College of Music and continue to have a heavy involvement in the music industry.
I am meticulous about my work and you'll find that everything released from my development studio is of the highest quality. The vast majority of the websites and applications that I build are bespoke; built to your specifications and requirements. I sometimes use off-the-shelf software products such as Expression Engine for Content Management and a selection of eCommerce packages. My bespoke web applications tend to be built on PHP-based CodeIgniter, but I do work in a variety of software frameworks, including .NET/SQL Server.
The service and pricing that I offer is pitched to meet the needs and budgets of the mid-market; which mostly means SME's, although I have undertaken work for much larger companies, working along side their existing marketing or IT departments.
