5 Steps to Success
When I work on my clients' websites and applications, I follow a clear five-step process. It's a tried and tested method and always results in well planned, solidly constructed and high performing solutions.
First things first; it's always good to get down on paper the key objectives of the website and this will be one of the initial things that we'll establish together. This plan will let us formulate a specification that will meet both your requirements and budget.
Following an initial consultation, the next stage is the production of a series of graphics to show how the website will look. This 'mockup' stage is an excellent time for you, the client, to provide feedback and comments on the site layout. This stage can be repeated and refined until a working website mockup is finalised.
Once the design and functionality has been finalised, the actual construction and development of the website can begin. Throughout the development process you will be able to view how the site is progressing by visiting a live test server address. The outcome of this stage is the complete operational website including all pages, functionality and database if required.
The penultimate stage is the deployment of the developed website to a live environment, either as a fresh launch or the replacement of an existing website. Once tested and approved, the finished site is set live in a smooth transition.
The site itself will have been built with search engines foremost in mind, with accessible search engine friendly structure, navigation and coding. But that alone doesn't guarantee positive search engine results, so the final stage is to embark on a Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) program. This ensures that you will enjoy the benefit of favourable positions in the major search engines.
